Our Mission Statement
The ultimate vision we have here at Holy Ghost is twofold and rooted in both the present and the future.
For the present, our goal is for parents to feel good about their choice, and that their children are safe, engaged, educated, and smiling. For the future, we want these children to warmly look back at their experience with us and see it as a cherished part of their childhood.
Guided by high expectations and coupled with the knowledge that all children learn at different levels and speeds, our staff will provide students with a broad range of educational and exciting opportunities that will encourage each child to grow in their own abilities. Children will have a safe and nurturing educational experience in which they can develop the skills needed to express themselves through words, art, and other creative areas. Holy Ghost Lutheran Preschool will provide hands-on learning opportunities that will help to develop literacy, mathematical, and scientific learning leading to critical and creative thinking. Children will also be exposed to positive character lessons and experience through religious education, used to help shape them into successful members of a social world.
Parents are their children’s first, and most important, teachers. Holy Ghost Lutheran Preschool understands and respects this important role and recognizes that parents are an integral part of the educational process. Parent involvement is actively sought, encouraged, and welcomed in our program. Working together as a team, the teacher and parents will ensure that their child is successful in gaining the self-confidence and independence needed for their future school experiences.
Enrollment is open to all children ages 3 to 5 years of age. Enrollment will be granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race, color, religion, or beliefs. The child must be toilet trained. Our 3-year-old classroom is for children whose 3rd birthday is before September 1st.
Our 4-year-old classroom is for children whose 4th birthday is before September 1st.
The following must be submitted to the school in order to be enrolled in our program:
Our Three Year Old Class engages in a curriculum that is divided into thematic units developmentally appropriate for their learning. The study of numbers, basic math skills and letters will be integrated in these units as they experience storytelling, word association, perception, and movement activities, and learning centers.
Our Four Year Old Class engages in a curriculum that is divided into thematic units, with a greater emphasis put onnumbers, counting, math skills, letter recognition and formation, as well as letter sounds and phonics. A wide variety of learning experiences are used to help these growing learners reach their fullest potential and become kindergarten ready.
Both three and four year old classes will have opportunities to enrich their learning through religious lessons and chapel, as well as field trips, special classes, and programs.
